Curated Resources

We've set up this space to build community and share ideas to help jurisdictions advance a safety culture. Applying Safety Science to Improve Child Protection provides a nice overview. It's a good place to start.

Organizational assessment can be a great first step for an agency interested in starting this journey. A specific assessment of organizational safety culture helps create a language to drive change and allows leaders to focus resources to have the greatest impact. Tim Vogus' paper Assessing Safety Culture in Child Welfare describes Tennessee's experience. You can find a copy of the actual survey here. Also, Richard Epstein at Chapin Hall Center for Children has developed a web-based version and has the capacity to help jurisdictions with administration, analysis, and interpretation.

We'll continue to curate great resources and make them available to the community. Please click, explore, and contribute.
